Midfielder of Inter Milan and former captain of the Armenian national team, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, has published a commemorative message dedicated to the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The 37-year-old footballer shared a story on social media, recalling the tragic events of 1915. The image he posted features the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex — a symbol of remembrance for the victims of the genocide — as well as the traditional symbol, the forget-me-not flower.
Mkhitaryan added a brief but emotional caption to the post:
“1915. We remember, WE REMEMBER, 24.04.”
In doing so, the footballer joined millions of people around the world who pay tribute every year on April 24 to the memory of the victims.
