On November 2, the Spanish Segunda División Matchday 12 fixture between Tenerife and Andorra was suspended with the score at 2–2 following a serious collision between home striker Jesús de Miguel and visiting goalkeeper Jesús Owono.
The incident occurred during stoppage time. The Andorra goalkeeper rushed out of his goal in an attempt to intercept the ball and collided with the Tenerife forward. De Miguel fell to the ground and, according to Spanish media reports, lost consciousness.
Medical staff immediately provided assistance to the player before he was taken to hospital by ambulance. Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono was shown a straight red card.
Tenerife later officially confirmed that Jesús de Miguel had been admitted to the intensive care unit at La Candelaria University Hospital. His condition was described as serious but stable.
Following the incident, the referee decided to suspend the match. The score was 2–2 at the time of the suspension, but this cannot yet be considered the final result. A decision regarding the completion of the fixture will be made at a later date.
Hrant-Leon Ranos remains on the bench again
Armenia international striker Hrant-Leon Ranos was included in Tenerife's matchday squad but did not make an appearance.
This was the third consecutive match in which the Armenian forward remained an unused substitute.
Prior to this run, Ranos had made two substitute appearances for the Spanish club and managed to score one goal.
