Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Malkhas Amoyan continues to make history by winning his fifth consecutive European Championship gold medal.

In the final of the 2026 European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship held in Tirana, Amoyan defeated Georgia’s Ramaz Zoidze. The bout ended in a 1:1 draw, but victory was awarded to the Armenian athlete based on the criterion of scoring the first point.

This final was a rematch of last year’s showdown, where Amoyan also prevailed with a 3:1 victory.
