Armenian Sambo Athletes Won 16 Medals at the 2026 European Youth Championship

On April 23, the 2026 European Youth Sambo Championship concluded in the Serbian city of Novi Sad. The tournament was held in two age categories: under 18 (boys and girls) and under 20 (youth).
In the competitions among boys and girls, medals were awarded only in sport sambo, while the youth category also included combat sambo.
As usual, Russia took first place in the medal standings, winning 33 medals: 27 gold, 1 silver, and 5 bronze.
The Armenian national team also delivered a strong performance, winning 16 medals, including 2 gold.
Notably, in five of the seven combat sambo finals, athletes from Armenia and Russia faced each other, but in all of those matches, the Russian athletes emerged victorious.
