Armenian weightlifter Anna Amroyan won a small gold medal in the clean and jerk at the 2026 European Weightlifting Championships in the 77 kg weight category.
The 20-year-old athlete delivered a confident performance in the clean and jerk, successfully lifting 125 kg, 133 kg, and 136 kg. Her final lift set a new European junior record and secured her victory in the discipline.
However, Amroyan failed to register a result in the snatch: she made three attempts at 102 kg and 104 kg but did not complete a successful lift. As a result, she did not receive a total in the combined event.
Another Armenian athlete, Alina Sukiasyan, placed 14th overall with a total of 220 kg (100 kg in the snatch and 120 kg in the clean and jerk).
The winner in the 77 kg category was Janette Ilisioni (Finland) with a total of 247 kg (113+134). Russia’s Varvara Kuzminova took silver with 244 kg (112+132), while Irina Dombroska won bronze with 243 kg (110+133).
