Armenia Women's National Team to Face Montenegro and Kazakhstan in 2027 UEFA Nations League

The draw for the group stage of the 2027 UEFA Women's Nations League took place on November 3 in Nyon, Switzerland. Armenia's women's national team was drawn into Group C6 alongside Montenegro and Kazakhstan.

With only three teams in the group, each nation will play four matches — two at home and two away. The group stage will take place from February 23 to June 15, 2027.

Armenia to Face Kazakhstan Once Again

Remarkably, Armenia and Kazakhstan have faced each other in every qualifying campaign since 2023. Over the past four years, the two teams have played six matches, with Armenia recording one win, one draw, and four defeats.

The upcoming Nations League fixtures will therefore mark the seventh and eighth meetings between the two nations over a five-year period.

Mariam Stepanyan Reacts to the Draw

Following the draw, Armenia women's national team head coach Mariam Stepanyan commented on her team's objectives for the upcoming competition.

"Before the draw, we were hoping to have the opportunity to face three teams, but we have what we have. Our goal is clear: to build a competitive team capable of playing quality football and fighting for good results," Stepanyan said.

According to the head coach, Armenia's previous performances have demonstrated the team's potential.

"Previous matches have shown that we have this potential. We will certainly analyze our opponents, but first and foremost, our focus must be on our own team," she added.

What Does Armenia Need to Earn Promotion to League B?

In the 2027 UEFA Women's Nations League, the winners of all six League C groups will earn automatic promotion to League B.

Additionally, the two best group runners-up will enter promotion/relegation play-offs against teams finishing third in their respective League B groups.

Therefore, Armenia must finish first in Group C6 to secure automatic promotion to League B.

The group stage will be played across three international windows:

• February 23 – March 6, 2027

• April 13–24, 2027

• June 7–15, 2027

The exact dates of Armenia's matches will be announced once the competition schedule has been finalized.
