Armenian Gymnasts Summarize the World Cup Stages
Representatives of the Armenian national artistic gymnastics team — World Cup 2026 stage medalists Artur Davtyan, Hamlet Manukyan, and Artur Avetisyan — summed up their performances and assessed the team’s current form.
Artur Davtyan admitted that the start of the season was not easy for him. Due to an injury, he missed the vault competitions and focused on ring exercises. According to him, he competed while still dealing with the injury, but he has now fully recovered and is ready to move forward.
“If the coaches are satisfied with our results, then we cannot be dissatisfied with the work we have done. Yes, there are mistakes, but we will correct them,” Davtyan emphasized.
For his part, Artur Avetisyan, who became the overall World Cup champion on rings this year, described his performance as successful but not perfect. The gymnast believes he is capable of more and intends to raise his level of preparation.
Hamlet Manukyan, who won two gold medals at the World Cup stages, was also satisfied with his results. However, he noted that he is concerned about his teammate Mamikon Khachatryan, whose performance was unsuccessful.
“For me, the stages went successfully, but my friend’s result was disappointing. We all need to work harder to perform better at the next competitions,” Manukyan stated.
The Armenian gymnasts stressed that they view the past competitions as an important stage of preparation. The main focus now will be on eliminating mistakes and improving consistency in order to achieve stronger results at future international tournaments.
