2026 U23 European Wrestling Championships (Freestyle) Conclude: Full Tournament Results

On March 11, the 2026 U23 European Freestyle Wrestling Championships concluded in Zrenjanin, Serbia. Following the final day of competition, the winners and medalists were determined in the 61 kg, 74 kg, 86 kg, 92 kg, and 125 kg weight categories.

On the last day of the championship, two wrestlers from Russia became champions, along with one representative each from Armenia, France, and Azerbaijan.

According to the overall results of the tournament, the Russian national team won five gold medals. One gold medal each was also claimed by the national teams of Armenia, Azerbaijan, France, and Moldova.

The Armenian national team won a total of four medals — one gold and three bronze. Levik Mikaelyan (61 kg) became a two-time U23 European champion. Bronze medals for Armenia were also won by Arman Harutyunyan (57 kg), David Margaryan (70 kg), and Khachatur Khachatryan (125 kg).

In terms of the total number of medals, this is more than last year, although the quality of the result was slightly better then (gold, silver, and bronze). At the same time, in the overall team ranking in 2026 Armenia scored significantly more points than the previous year: 116 points and 3rd place in 2026 compared to 86 points and 5th place in 2025.

A distinctive feature of this European championship was that all 10 Armenian wrestlers earned ranking points, each securing at least one victory.
