29-year-old Armenian boxer Yuri Sakunts continues to gain strong momentum in professional boxing. At a boxing event held in Bangkok, Sakunts (21–0) claimed a stoppage victory over Russian boxer Mark Urvanov (24–5–2), knocking his opponent out in the very first round.
Sakunts once again confirmed his reputation as one of the most active fighters in his division. His next bout is already scheduled for April 18, this time in Austria.
Steadily climbing the rankings and regularly stepping into the ring, Sakunts has moved close to the world top 50. At the same time, most of his previous opponents were not top-level boxers — with today’s fight against Urvanov being a notable exception.
This victory marked Sakunts’ 21st win in the professional ring, with 19 of his fights ending by knockout. Notably, the Armenian is not a classical boxer: he is widely known for his Guinness World Records, ranging from towing KAMAZ trucks and helicopters to performing finger push-ups. In addition, Sakunts has previously competed in mas-wrestling, kickboxing, and several other disciplines.
Since 2022, Yuri Sakunts has been competing regularly in professional boxing and has fought 21 bouts, winning all of them.
