Jirayr Sargsyan to Enter the Ring on Day Two of the Strandja Cup 2026

On February 24, during the second competition day of the prestigious international Strandja Cup tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria, one representative of Armenia will step into the ring.

In the 55 kg weight category, Armenian boxer Jirayr Sargsyan will face Azerbaijan’s Zidan Hunbatov. The bout promises to be intense, given the high level of competition and the principled nature of the rivalry.

The day before, five Armenian representatives competed on the opening day of the tournament. Following the initial bouts, Armenian athletes secured four victories, successfully launching their campaign at one of Europe’s most prestigious amateur boxing tournaments.

The competition day will begin at 14:00 Bulgarian time.
