Construction of a new sports facility — the sports complex named after Arthur Abraham — has officially begun in the Nerkin Charbakh district of the Shengavit administrative area of Yerevan. The project is being implemented through close cooperation between the Yerevan Municipality and the Sportworld Foundation, whose patron is former world boxing champion Arthur Abraham (47–6).
The future sports center is expected to become one of the key infrastructure projects in the district. According to the initiators, the complex will be designed for both professional athletes and children and young people taking their first steps in sports. Special emphasis will be placed on the development of boxing; however, the infrastructure will also allow for training in other martial arts disciplines and general physical conditioning.
The project initiators emphasize that the construction of the complex is not only an investment in sports infrastructure but also a contribution to the social development of Nerkin Charbakh. The new center will create additional opportunities for active youth engagement, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, and the organization of citywide and international tournaments.
Arthur Abraham, whose name the complex will bear, has repeatedly expressed his commitment to supporting the development of sports in Armenia. According to him, creating a modern sports space in one of Yerevan’s districts will give young athletes the opportunity to unlock their potential and achieve high results on the world stage.
