Urartu Lost to the Uzbekistan National Team During UAE Training Camp

Yerevan-based Urartu continues preparations for the second part of the season at a training camp in the United Arab Emirates. As part of their friendly matches, the Armenian club faced the Uzbekistan national team.

The Uzbekistan national team, coached by World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro, is preparing for its first-ever FIFA World Cup, which added extra intrigue to the encounter.

The match was played in an unusual format — three periods of 35 minutes each. In a high-scoring game, Urartu fell 2–4.

One of the goals for the Armenian side was scored by Khariton Ayvazyan. The names of the other Urartu goal scorers have not been disclosed.

The UAE training camp is an important stage of Urartu’s preparation for official matches, and games against opponents of this level provide the team with valuable match practice.
