Tragedy in Serbia: “Radnički-1923” coach Mladen Žižović dies during match (VIDEO)

A tragedy occurred during the Serbian SuperLiga match — Mladen Žižović, head coach of “Radnički-1923” from Kragujevac, passed away during the game. He was only 44 years old.

The incident happened in the 14th-round fixture against “Mladost” from Lučani. In the 22nd minute of the first half, Žižović suddenly collapsed near the touchline. Medical staff rushed to assist and transported him to the hospital, but despite all efforts, news of his death was confirmed about twenty minutes later.

After receiving the tragic news, referee Jovan Šegrt decided to end the match early. Players from both teams were visibly shaken — many broke down in tears on the field.

This was only Žižović’s third match in charge of “Radnički”. The former Bosnia and Herzegovina international had been working successfully as a coach in recent years in his homeland.
