Armenia national team footballer Tigran Barseghyan has announced his retirement from the country’s main team. The 32-year-old midfielder shared the news in his official statement.
“Dear fans, I would like to inform you that I have decided to end my career with the Armenia national team. It has been a great honor and responsibility for me over many years to wear the Armenia jersey and defend the colors of our country.
I would like to thank all the coaches I had the opportunity to work with in the national team, my teammates, the medical and administrative staff, all employees of the Football Federation of Armenia, and of course our loyal fans who were always by our side — both in moments of victory and during defeats.
I will continue to support the national team in a new role — as a fan. I wish our national team victories and great achievements.
Yours — Tigran Barseghyan,” the footballer’s statement reads.

Barseghyan represented Armenia from 2016 to 2025. During this period, he made 64 appearances, scored 9 goals and provided 14 assists, becoming one of the most consistent players of the national team in recent years.
He played his final match for the national team on October 14, 2025 against Ireland (0:1). In that match, the midfielder received a red card.
Notably, in his last four matches for the national team, Barseghyan wore the captain’s armband.
Earlier, Varazdat Haroyan and Lucas Zelarayán also retired from the Armenia national team.
