Today, the British newspaper The Guardian released the first part of its annual Top 100 Footballers of the World ranking for 2025, revealing the players ranked from 71st to 100th.
One of the most interesting aspects of this release was the participation of Urartu Yerevan head coach Robert Arzumanyan in the voting process. The Armenian specialist was among the experts who contributed to the final list, marking a notable moment for the Armenian football community.
The published group features both established global stars and emerging names. Among them are Kevin De Bruyne (73rd), Bernardo Silva (72nd), Rodri—who dropped from first place to 74th after a serious injury—as well as experienced figures such as Antoine Griezmann (100th) and Manuel Neuer (94th), who returned to the ranking after a two-year absence.
Several players made their debut in the ranking, including Arda Güler (71st), Jérémy Doku (75th), Bryan Mbeumo (77th), Nick Woltemade (82nd), Antoine Semenyo (88th), and a number of young talents already considered future leaders of world football.
The ranking also highlights significant drops: Rúben Dias, Joško Gvardiol and Rafael Leão have all fallen considerably compared to last year, a decline attributed by the authors to inconsistent club seasons.
