Styopa Yeremyan (63 kg weight category) became the champion of the prestigious Canada Open 2026 international taekwondo tournament, confirming his high level of preparation and confidently establishing himself on the world stage.
Styopa is the son of renowned Armenian taekwondo athlete Armen Yeremyan, the 2008 European Champion and a participant in the 2012 Olympic Games, where he finished in 5th place. Continuing the family’s sporting traditions, Stepa trains under the guidance of his father.
Currently residing in California, Styopa Yeremyan represents Armenia in international competitions. As a member of the national team, he participated in the 2025 European Junior Championship, gaining valuable experience at a high competitive level.
The victory at the Canada Open 2026 marks an important milestone in Styopa Yeremyan’s athletic career and confirms his serious ambitions in world taekwondo.
