On March 4, the first leg of the Russian Cup semifinal took place, where Krasnodar lost away to CSKA with a score of 1–3.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 23rd minute of the match. Moses Cobnan found the net to put Krasnodar ahead. However, after the break CSKA managed to turn the game around and secure a comeback victory. In the second half, goals were scored by Kirill Glebov (55th minute), Daniil Krugovoy (66), and Matheus Alves, who set the final score in stoppage time in the 90+3rd minute.
From the 72nd minute, Krasnodar were forced to play with ten men. Defender Gonzalez received a second yellow card for a physical challenge during a corner kick. At the same time, a CSKA player was also actively initiating contact with Giovanni. After the incident, the referee also showed several yellow cards to Krasnodar players for protesting.
After the match, Krasnodar captain Eduard Spertsyan sharply criticized the refereeing. In his Telegram channel, the midfielder briefly described what happened with a single word — “Circus.”
Spertsyan himself came onto the pitch during the first half, in the 43rd minute, replacing Kevin Lenini.
The return leg between the teams will take place on March 17. The winner of the tie will advance to the Russian Cup final.
