Six Wins on the First Day of IMMAF World Championships 2025: A Strong Start for Team Armenia

On September 27, the IMMAF World Championships 2025 in MMA for adults and youth kicked off in Tbilisi. All the Round of 32 fights took place on the first day. Team Armenia was represented by nine fighters, six of whom claimed victories and advanced to the next round.

Results of Armenian athletes on Day 1 of IMMAF-2025:

Youth

• 70.3 kg (Round of 32): Hamlet Aslanyan (Armenia) defeated Bishes Amin (Australia) via submission in Round 1. In the Round of 16, he will face Nursultan Beisembayev (Kazakhstan).

• 52.2 kg: Ashot Margaryan will start from the quarterfinals.

Adults

• 56.7 kg (Round of 32): Artur Asoyan (Armenia) beat Dmitry Husariev (Ukraine) by unanimous decision. Next opponent — Reda Haifa (France).

• 61.2 kg (Round of 32): Samvel Marukyan (Armenia) defeated Patrik Kutila (Czech Republic) by unanimous decision. In the Round of 16, he will face Eufrat Avdoyan (Ukraine).

• 61.2 kg (Round of 32): Majit Amaryan (Armenia) lost to Joseph Frodsham (England) via submission in Round 1.

• 65.8 kg (Round of 32): Narek Aruskhanyan (Armenia) was defeated by Yanis Verissimo (Switzerland) via submission in Round 2.

• 70.3 kg (Round of 32): Tigran Nazaryan (Armenia) submitted Alejandro Ibarra (Mexico) in Round 1. Next opponent — Jake Davis (England).

• 74.8 kg (Round of 32): Spartak Mikayelyan (Armenia) defeated Sigurd Romer (Denmark) via submission in Round 2. Next opponent — Patrik Pikes (Czech Republic).

• 74.8 kg (Round of 32): Manvel Barseghyan (Armenia) won against Jorge Antonio Luna (Mexico) via TKO in Round 1. In the Round of 16, he will face Dmitry Yarkov (Kazakhstan).

• 79.4 kg (Round of 32): Serozha Grigoryan (Armenia) lost to Gian-Carlo Torino (South Africa) by unanimous decision.

Thus, after Day 1, Team Armenia secured six victories and advanced several fighters to the Round of 16. The tournament will continue on September 28 with the next round.
