The Armenian Armed Forces football team suffered its second defeat in the qualification tournament for the 2027 Military World Cup. In the second group stage match, the Armenian team lost to Spain with a narrow score of 0–1.
The tournament is being held in the Netherlands. The Armenian squad consists of BKMA-2 players who were not called up to the country’s youth or U21 national teams.
Earlier, in the opening qualification match, Armenia also lost to Ireland with the same score of 0–1.
The Armenian team will play its final group stage match on March 26 against Germany. However, the team has already lost its chances of advancing from the group.
In the other match of the day, Ireland and Germany played to a 0-0 draw.
It is worth noting that the Armenian squad is mainly composed of 18-year-old players, while their opponents field more experienced lineups. In particular, 35-year-old Chris Kenny played for Ireland in the tournament.
