The Republic of Ireland suffered a 0–1 away defeat to Portugal. The only and decisive goal was scored by Rúben Neves in the 91st minute. Earlier, Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty.
Portugal completely dominated the game, taking 30 shots on goal, while Ireland managed only two attempts, neither of which were successful.
