Armenia national futsal team rises to ninth place in UEFA ranking

UEFA has published the updated ranking of European national futsal teams, in which the Armenia national team has achieved historic progress.

Following a successful performance at the European Championship 2026 and reaching the quarterfinals of the tournament, the Armenian team climbed from 13th to 9th place. The team now has 1951.975 points, with only a minimal gap separating it from its closest competitor, Italy.

Breaking into the top ten of the European ranking is a major achievement for Armenian futsal. The Euro quarterfinal appearance became a key factor in increasing the team’s coefficient and strengthening its position on the international stage.

The new ranking position is particularly significant in the context of qualification for the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup. If Armenia maintains its place in the top nine after the second qualification round, the team will be placed in Pot 1 for the final qualifying draw.

This would significantly increase the chances of a successful campaign and qualification for the World Cup.

The Armenian national team continues to confidently assert itself in European futsal, reinforcing its status as one of the continent’s fastest-progressing teams.
