Sandro Perković: “It’s a tough night, but we got the maximum out of this season”

FC Noah head coach Sandro Perković commented on the team’s performance in the UEFA Conference League, thanking the players and fans for their support and dedication.

According to the specialist, the defeat was painful but does not erase the work that has been done.

“I want to thank our fans who came to the stadium in large numbers today and gave us tremendous support. It was a tough day, and it will be a tough night for me and my players. But I must thank them for everything they have done for us during this European campaign. It all started for us on July 8 and continues to this day. We probably won’t be able to sleep tonight, but tomorrow we will analyze the situation,” Perković noted.

The coach emphasized the historic significance of reaching the European playoffs.

“For the first time in Armenian football, we played in the playoffs and won the first match. Today we did not lose our fighting spirit, but playing against such a team is not easy,” he said.

The coach also highlighted key moments that influenced the course of the match.

“The early goal gave the opponent a lot of energy, then we conceded from a set piece, and it became very difficult to get back into the game. Nevertheless, many thanks to my players. I think we got the maximum,” Perković said.

In conclusion, he stressed the importance of the points earned for the national ranking.

“In the first match we earned three points and moved Armenia up to 33rd place in the UEFA table, which is very important for Armenian football,” the Noah head coach concluded.

After winning in Yerevan, Noah lost 0–4 away to Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in the second leg of the UEFA Conference League Round of 32.

Armenia secured 33rd place in the UEFA rankings and will receive a spot in the Europa League.
