Samvel Terteryan wins silver at the U23 European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship

Armenian wrestler Samvel Terteryan (77 kg) won the silver medal at the 2026 U23 European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship, which is being held in Zrenjanin, Serbia.
In the final bout, the 19-year-old Armenian lost to Russia’s Daniil Grigoriev with a score of 1–1, conceding the match on the criteria of the first scoring action.
On his way to the final, Terteryan had a strong tournament run. He defeated Dominik Botos (Hungary), reigning U23 world champion Irfan Mirzoev (Ukraine), and U23 European champion Alexandru Solovei (Moldova).
Another medal for the Armenian national team was won today by Manvel Khachatryan (55 kg), who claimed the bronze medal.
In addition, Armenia still has two more finals ahead, where Aramais Harutyunyan (130 kg) and Suren Agadzhanyan (60 kg) will compete for gold medals.
