Russian Wrestlers Took All Gold on the First Day of the Yerevan Tournament

On March 17, the 2026 U20 Lyoa Vardanyan International Freestyle Wrestling Tournament started in Yerevan, featuring athletes from 7 countries. On the first day, medals were contested in five weight categories: 57, 65, 74, 86, and 97 kg.
Wrestlers from Russia won all five weight classes. Athletes from Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, and France also earned medals.
Armenian wrestlers claimed four medals at their home tournament: two silver and two bronze.
