Yerevan-based Pyunik continue to strengthen their squad with former players and have announced the signing of right-back Robert Darbinyan. The agreement has been reached with the 30-year-old footballer, who previously played for Shirak Gyumri.
Since 2023, Darbinyan has represented the Gyumri club. In the current Armenian Premier League season, he has made 14 appearances and recorded one assist.
This move marks Darbinyan’s second spell at Pyunik. During the 2020/21 season, the defender was part of the Yerevan club but made only one appearance for the senior team, spending most of his time with the youth side.
Darbinyan also has one cap for the Armenia national team — in 2018, he featured in a friendly match against Lithuania.
The player was born in Tolyatti and is a graduate of Samara’s Krylia Sovetov academy, but has been playing for Armenian clubs since 2014. Earlier, Pyunik also announced the signings of Artak Dashyan and James Santos.
