On February 8, the Greco-Roman wrestling ranking tournament Zagreb Open 2026 concluded in Zagreb, Croatia. Wrestlers from 24 countries took part in the competition, and the Iranian national team won first place in the team standings.
This event became the first ranking tournament of 2026 and effectively opened the international season. In Zagreb, athletes earned important ranking points required for participation in upcoming continental and world championships, as well as future Olympic qualification events.
At the same time, not all of the strongest national teams competed in the tournament. In particular, the teams of Armenia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and several other countries did not take part.
It should be noted that during this period Armenian wrestlers competed in an international tournament held in Estonia.
