Rematch Without Chaos: Enhanced Security Measures for the Tsarukyan vs. Poullas Bout

Former Bellator and ONE champion, ex-UFC fighter, and RAF league representative Ben Askren has made a statement ahead of the highly anticipated rematch between Arman Tsarukyan and Giorgio Poullas. According to him, the tournament organizers will implement additional security measures to prevent a repeat of the incident that occurred after their first bout.

The rematch will take place on March 29 in Tampa, Florida, and is already generating significant interest among fans and within the sports community.

Askren emphasized that this time, enforcement of the rules will be significantly stricter:

“We cannot allow the previous situation to happen again. Referees will undergo special training, and the athletes will receive clear instructions on what is allowed and what is strictly prohibited.”

Special attention will be given to illegal techniques, including face grabbing and applying pressure on the opponent — such actions are strictly prohibited in international wrestling competitions. Violations will result in warnings and fines, and after three warnings, an athlete will be disqualified.

The organizers are focusing on “clean competition” and promise full control over everything happening in the arena. To achieve this, an enhanced security team will be deployed at the event.

It is worth recalling that the first bout between Tsarukyan and Poullas took place on March 1 in Tempe, Arizona, as part of the RAF 6 tournament. Tsarukyan won that match with a score of 5:3. However, immediately after the bout ended, the situation got out of control — the Armenian fighter attacked his opponent, which triggered a массовая драка in the arena.
