Razmik Kurdyan reaches the final of the U23 World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships

Armenian wrestler Razmik Kurdyan, competing in the 130 kg weight category, has advanced to the final of the 2025 U23 World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships, held in Novi Sad, Serbia.
In the semifinals, Kurdyan confidently defeated Russia’s Aleksandr Melikhov with a score of 5:1. Earlier, on his way to the final, he beat Belarus’ Ilya Shumchik (4:3) in the round of 16 and secured a hard-fought 3:2 victory over Czech wrestler Artur Sargsyan in the quarterfinals.
In the gold medal match, Kurdyan will face Iranian wrestler Fardin Khadayati. The final will take place tomorrow, October 21.
Other members of the Armenian national team — Davit Jotyan (63 kg), Samvel Terteryan (77 kg), and Ruben Gevorgyan (87 kg) — finished their medal quests on the first day of the competition.
Tomorrow, four more Armenian wrestlers will take to the mat: Araik Topalyan (55 kg), Ruben Miranyan (67 kg), Gaspar Terteryan (72 kg), and Arshak Geghamyan (97 kg).
