Extended Armenia U21 squad: 39 players, 10 abroad-based and new names

The head coach of Armenia’s U21 national team, Armen Gyulbudaghyants, has announced an extended squad of players in contention for the two upcoming friendlies against Cyprus, scheduled for June 3 and 6. The list includes 39 players, among them 10 from foreign clubs and several debutants.

Most of the players represent Armenian clubs, with a notable presence from BKMA — over ten of their players are included in the squad. At the same time, the coaching staff continues to closely monitor Armenian players based abroad. The list features players from clubs in the USA, Germany, Spain, Austria, and Russia.

Among the newcomers are goalkeeper Donavan Parisian from the American club New England Revolution and defender Artyom Bandikyan from Moscow's CSKA. Also included are twin brothers Mark and Mike Gevorgyan from Germany, and Yervand Sukiasyan, who plays for Austria’s St. Pölten.

Meanwhile, some promising players remain out of the squad for now. Due to medical reasons, particularly injury, midfielder Gonzalo Zelarayan from Argentina’s Belgrano was unable to join the team. Other players still under the coaching staff’s observation include Finn Geragousian (Sunderland, England), Andrew Darakchyan (Oakland, USA), and Edgar Piloyan (Botev, Bulgaria).

The next Armenia U21 matches will be held on June 3 at the FFA Technical Center and on June 6 at the Republican Stadium. In both games, the opponent will be Cyprus U21. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00.
