After two “mirrored” rounds in the Armenian Premier League, the standings have become significantly tighter, and the battle for the top spot has intensified.
In rounds 18 and 19, teams faced the same opponents both home and away, offering a clear measure of their consistency:
Noah — Shirak 3:0
Shirak — Noah 0:2
Pyunik — Alashkert 1:0
Alashkert — Pyunik 0:1
BKMA — Urartu 0:1
Urartu — BKMA 4:1
Ararat-Armenia — Van 3:0
Van — Ararat-Armenia 2:2
Gandzasar — Ararat 2:1
Ararat — Gandzasar 0:2
Pyunik go into the international break as league leaders, having made up two points on Ararat-Armenia while also holding a game in hand.
Among the top teams, only Ararat-Armenia (4 out of 6 points) and Alashkert (0 out of 6) dropped points. Meanwhile, Urartu, Noah and Pyunik collected the maximum.
As a result, the top of the table is now extremely tight, with just six points separating first and fifth place.
Special attention is now on the postponed Matchday 13 clash between Pyunik and Noah. The date is yet to be confirmed, but depending on scheduling, this fixture could prove decisive in the title race. The two sides will also meet again in Round 24 — another potentially crucial encounter.
At the bottom end of the table, Gandzasar defeated Ararat twice and have all but secured their top-flight status, significantly improving their position.
The final stretch of the season promises to be intense — both in the title race and the battle for survival.
