Pyunik defeat Ararat-Armenia in rescheduled league match

In a rescheduled Matchday 3 fixture of the Armenian Premier League, Pyunik claimed a narrow 1–0 victory over Ararat-Armenia. The only goal of the match was scored by Javi Moreno, who secured an important three points for his team.

The defeat was Ararat-Armenia’s first of the current season, yet Manuel Tulipa’s side still tops the league table with 31 points. Thanks to the win, Pyunik moved up to 26 points, drawing level with Urartu, who sit in third place.

The match began with a minute of silence in memory of legendary Soviet footballer and coach Nikita Simonyan, who passed away on November 23. Ararat-Armenia supporters paid tribute to his legacy by unveiling a large banner in honor of one of the most influential figures in Armenian and Soviet football history.
