Today, February 16, the winner in pairs figure skating will be decided at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, as the top 16 duos compete in the free program — including a historic pair representing Armenia.
Following the short program, 16 pairs qualified for the free skate. Among them are Armenia’s Karina Akopova / Nikita Rakhmanin, who placed 12th with a score of 66.27 points.
This is already a historic achievement for Armenian figure skating. Previously, Armenia’s representatives in pairs skating had never placed higher than 18th at the Olympic Games. In the free program, Akopova and Rakhmanin have a chance to improve their standing and secure the best result in the country’s history.
The free program begins at 20:00 local time (22:00 Moscow, 23:00 Yerevan). The Armenian pair will skate in the second warm-up group with start number 5.
Below are the short program results. Final scores (Short Program + Free Program) will be updated as the performances conclude.
