Portugal unleash a goal storm against Italy at the start of Futsal EURO 2026

Portugal’s national team kicked off their 2026 UEFA Futsal European Championship campaign with a яркая comeback victory. In the opening Group D match, the reigning champions defeated Italy 6–2, delivering a powerful performance in the second half.
The Italians opened the scoring as early as the 2nd minute, with Carmine Musumeci finding the net (1:28). However, the European champions gradually found their rhythm and took control of the game.
After a cautious start, Portugal shifted into championship mode. The team calmly overcame the early setback, leveled the score before the break, and then produced an impressive attacking spell in the second half. Edmilson Kutchy stood out in particular, scoring a spectacular quick brace that ultimately turned the game around. Italy also had two players sent off in the second half.
Hungary and Poland are also competing in Group D, with their head-to-head match scheduled for later today.
Futsal EURO 2026 is being held from January 21 to February 7 across three countries — Latvia, Lithuania, and Slovenia. The tournament has already delivered major results, including Armenia’s historic victory over Ukraine in the opening round.
Armenia will play their next match on January 25 against the Czech Republic.
