Former CSKA and Armenian clubs footballer Lionel Adams has died at the age of 31. According to Match TV, the athlete fell from a window in Zvenigorod, Moscow region, and passed away before medical services arrived.
Sources report that at the time of the tragedy, Adams was visiting Timur Magomedov, a former player of Yalta's Rubin. Earlier in December, Adams and Magomedov were involved in an incident in Zvenigorod, during which they were beaten, and Adams sustained a gunshot wound.
Lionel Adams was trained at Moscow CSKA and played for the club's youth team. He also played for Krasnoyarsk's Yenisey, KAMAZ from Naberezhnye Chelny, as well as clubs in Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Spain. Additionally, he was called up to Russia's U18 national team.
A significant part of Adams’ career was spent in the Armenian championship, where he represented Yerevan's Urartu (formerly Banants) and Van. At Urartu, he played 35 matches—the most he played for any single club in his professional career, not counting CSKA’s youth team.
Recently, Lionel Adams had been a free agent.
