Expected victory for Johannes Klæbo and a solid result by Mikayel Mikayelyan

In the men’s skiathlon (10+10 km) at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, victory went to the race favorite, Norwegian Johannes Klæbo. He confidently covered the distance and finished in 46:11.0, once again confirming his status as one of the strongest cross-country skiers of the modern era.
The silver medal was claimed by France’s Mathis Desloges with a time of 46:13.0. Bronze also went to Norway, as Martin Nyenget finished just one tenth of a second behind second place — 46:13.1.
Russian skier Saveliy Korostelyov narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth in 46:14.6, while France’s Hugo Lapalus placed fifth with a time of 46:15.3.
Armenia’s representative Mikayel Mikayelyan delivered a solid performance. He finished in 48th place with a time of 51:06.8. For the Armenian skier, competing on the Olympic course was an important milestone and valuable international experience.
A total of 75 athletes competed in the men’s skiathlon.
