Japanese midfielder Takuto Oshima of Yerevan’s Noah FC held a press conference ahead of the 2025/26 UEFA Conference League second-round match against Romania’s Universitatea Craiova.
Oshima joined Noah this summer from Universitatea Craiova, and on October 23, he will face his former club away in Craiova.
— You played for the opponent last season. What can you say about that club — their strengths and weaknesses?
— As everyone knows, they are a very good team. When the opponent loses the ball, they quickly take control and manage the game well.
— You played well against Rijeka in the first round. That was your first match in the group stage of European competitions. How did you feel?
— Every game is important to me. I always try to do my best for the team’s success — that’s what I do in every match.
— How can you compare the Armenian and Romanian leagues?
— For me, the Armenian Premier League turned out to be more difficult than I expected. The Romanian league is more intense, but the Armenian league is a very tough competition.
— Do you still stay in touch with your former teammates in Craiova?
— Yes, I still talk to many of them, though not all.
— Did you tell Noah’s coach all the secrets of Universitatea?
— No, I want to play fair. If I revealed all their secrets, that wouldn’t be fair.
— What are your feelings before facing your former teammates and fans?
— I’ve never played against a former team before. It’s a strange feeling — playing against friends.
— Do you feel any nostalgia before the match?
— Of course, I miss that wonderful stadium and the amazing fans. We expect a great atmosphere at the match. I hope we’ll be welcomed warmly.
— When you left Craiova this summer, did you expect to return so soon?
— No, I didn’t think it would happen. It was unexpected, but I’m happy to be back.
— With which Craiova player will you exchange shirts?
— Probably with Lyes Houri — he’s my best friend. We spent a lot of time together and always stay in touch. I’m also on good terms with Anzor Mekvabishvili — the three of us were always together.
