OFFICIAL: Zidan Banjaqui becomes an Ararat-Armenia player

Ararat-Armenia have announced the signing of Zidan Banjaqui. The 27-year-old attacking midfielder of the Guinea-Bissau national team will continue his career in the Armenian league.
The footballer’s last club was Greek side Panserraikos. Previously, Banjaqui played in Portugal’s second division, and in the 2019/20 season he featured in the country’s top flight. He is a product of the academies of Lisbon giants Sporting and Benfica.
At international level, the midfielder has made 9 appearances for Guinea-Bissau and scored 2 goals. His transfer value is estimated at €600,000.
Interesting detail: Zidan’s brother, Daniel Banjaqui, is a U17 World Champion with the Portugal national team.
It is worth noting that Ararat-Armenia are having a strong season and lead the Armenian Premier League standings after 15 rounds. The signing of an experienced attacking midfielder is aimed at strengthening the squad in the title race.
