“Nothing Is Impossible”: Noah Players on the Match Against AZ

Players of Armenian club Noah, Nardin Mulahusejnović and Hovhannes Hambardzumyan, shared their expectations for the upcoming UEFA Conference League Round of 32 clash against Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in an interview with UEFA.

The first leg will take place in Yerevan on February 19 and will kick off at 21:45 local time. The match will be historic — for the first time, an Armenian club will play in the knockout stage of European competitions.

Noah defender Hovhannes Hambardzumyan emphasized the significance of the achievement:

“We have already made history for Armenian club football and for Noah itself — reaching the main stage of the Conference League twice in a row, and this year advancing to the playoffs. This is a very good result, but we must keep moving forward and work hard to achieve more. A serious and strong opponent awaits us, but nothing is impossible.”

Noah striker Nardin Mulahusejnović, who was one of the standout performers of the group stage, noted that the team is ready for a serious challenge:

“I am a forward, and my job is to score goals. I am glad that my goals helped us achieve good results and continue playing in Europe this spring. We watch a lot of European football and know many AZ players well. I am optimistic. This season we have played several very tough matches against European teams, where we managed to win or draw. We need to maintain our confidence and show our maximum.”

The forward added:

“In every match I step onto the pitch thinking about victory. I believe in this team and in our quality. It’s impossible to predict how far we will go, but our task is to try to find out. I can promise that we will give everything. In football, anything is possible, especially in the playoffs — in one or two matches, anything can happen.”

It should be noted that during the winter transfer window, there was significant interest in Mulahusejnović. The top scorer of the Conference League main stage (5 goals and 1 assist) attracted attention from clubs in Poland, the United States, Scotland, Russia, and other countries. However, for now, the striker remains at Noah and is focused on the historic clash against AZ, which will open a new chapter for Armenian football in European competitions.
