Undefeated 22-year-old boxer Mikhail Grigoryan (8-0) secured a dominant victory over Namibia’s John Shikukutu (5-3-2) at the Shamo Boxing 104 event held on February 13 in Moscow.
The bout went the full scheduled 10 rounds and ended with a unanimous decision in favor of Grigoryan. The Russian boxer of Armenian descent delivered an exemplary performance, demonstrating a high pace, excellent distance control, and tactical discipline. Throughout all ten rounds, he consistently outworked his opponent, controlled the tempo of the fight, and prevented Shikukutu from imposing his style.
Grigoryan effectively combined body and head attacks, fought as the aggressor, and repeatedly found openings in the Namibian’s defense. Shikukutu attempted to respond with counterpunches, but the initiative remained with the Armenian boxer for the entire contest.
As a result, Mikhail Grigoryan maintained his undefeated record and improved his professional tally to 8-0, taking another confident step forward in his career.
Also competing on the card was Ekaterina Sycheva, a former member of the Armenian national boxing team.
Armenian champion Ekaterina Sycheva won her professional debut by unanimous decision against Azerbaijan champion Liliya Platova after six rounds of boxing.
Sycheva captured the AFL championship belt.
