Katya Galstyan will compete in the skiathlon today at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Today, at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, 33-year-old cross-country skier Katya Galstyan will start for the Armenian national team.
For the athlete born in Gyumri, this is already her fourth Olympic Games. Previously, Galstyan competed at the Olympics:
2014 — 61st place (10 km, individual start)
2018 — 72nd place (10 km, individual start)
2022 — 74th place (10 km, individual start)
2022 — 79th place (sprint)
Today, Katya will compete in the skiathlon (10+10 km). It is worth noting that at the current Olympic Games, the women’s skiathlon is being held over a 20 km distance for the first time, the same as for men. Previously, women competed over 15 km.
A total of 70 athletes from 27 countries will take part in the race.
Among the medalists from the previous Olympics, only bronze medalist Teresa Stadlober (Austria) will start. Beijing 2022 Olympic champion Therese Johaug (Norway) and silver medalist Natalia Nepryaeva (Russia) have already retired.
The leader of the world ranking this season is Jessie Diggins (USA), while the reigning 2025 world champion is Ebba Andersson.
The race starts at 16:00 Yerevan time.
