Results of Day 1 of the 2026 Grand Slam Stage in Tbilisi

On March 20, the third stage of the 2026 Judo Grand Slam series kicked off in Tbilisi. On the first day of competition, winners and medalists were determined in two men's and three women's weight categories.
Israel won two gold medals on the opening day — one in the men's and one in the women's events. Representatives of Kazakhstan, Turkey, and France also each claimed one gold medal.
Performance of Armenian Judokas
Martin Badalyan (60 kg) defeated Belgian Olivier Naert in his opening bout but then lost to Samariddin Kuchkarov (Uzbekistan).
Vahe Aghasyan (60 kg) finished his performance after the first match, losing to Belgian Jorre Verstraeten.
On March 21, Artak Torosyan (73 kg) will compete, and on March 22 — Gor Karapetyan (100 kg).
