Post-match comments
Jesus Velasco, head coach of Spain:
“We showed a solid performance, especially in the moments when it was necessary. The team stuck to tactical discipline, and that gives confidence. We play with joy and dynamism. Of course, there is always room for improvement, even with the tight schedule of the tournament.”
Italy ends their campaign at the quarter-final stage, reaching this phase for the first time since 2016. Despite losses to Portugal and Spain, the team left a lot of positive impressions, especially with their win over Kazakhstan in the playoff match.
