Inter Milan secured a narrow victory over Lecce in a rescheduled Serie A Matchday 16 fixture, extending their lead over Napoli to six points. Napoli, in turn, were held to a goalless draw by Parma earlier today. Meanwhile, AC Milan could reduce the gap to three points tomorrow if they defeat Como, coached by Cesc Fàbregas.
The only goal of the match came in the 78th minute, scored by Francesco Pio Esposito.
Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan started the match and spent 72 minutes on the pitch. He was later replaced by Lautaro Martínez as head coach Cristian Chivu adjusted the tactical setup by introducing a third forward.
Mkhitaryan made productive use of his playing time, actively contributing to build-up play and controlling the tempo in central midfield. In recent matches, the Armenian footballer has shown solid form and consistency.
