Harvey Sarajian — No. 5 Pick in the MLS Draft and Orlando City Rookie

Attacking midfielder Harvey Sarajian was selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft  2026 and has officially joined Orlando City. This is one of the highest draft picks in recent years and Orlando City’s first selection in the current draft, highlighting the club’s strong confidence in the young player.

Being selected No. 5 overall is a very significant achievement. For comparison, last year’s No. 5 pick, Reid Roberts, has already made 14 MLS appearances this season, demonstrating the level of opportunity typically given to players chosen this high.

Sarajian is an attacking midfielder with impressive physical attributes, capable of playing both as a central “number ten” and on the wings. He made a strong impression in college soccer, featuring for Georgia Southern and later Wake Forest, and also took part in the MLS College Showcase, where he firmly established himself on the radar of league clubs.

For Orlando City, this is an investment in a player who is already ready to compete at first-team level and could become a key part of the attacking unit in the future.

It is worth recalling that in 2006, Yura Movsisyan was also selected very high — No. 4 overall in the MLS Draft by Kansas City — and later became one of the most prominent Armenian players in the league’s history.

Harvey Sarajian’s selection at No. 5 overall marks another important step for players with Armenian roots in American soccer and represents a strong statement of intent for a bright future in MLS.
