Khachanov advances to ATP Doha Round of 16, Avanesyan exits in Oeiras

Russian tennis player of Armenian origin Karen Khachanov (ATP 17) claimed a comeback victory over Japan’s Shintaro Mochizuki (ATP 117) to reach the Round of 16 at the ATP tournament in Doha.
The match proved challenging for the favorite. Mochizuki dominated the first set 6:1, but Khachanov managed to turn the tide. In the second set, Karen played much more aggressively and leveled the score at 6:3 before sealing the win in the निर्णer, 6:4.
As a result, Khachanov secured a comeback victory — 1:6, 6:3, 6:4 — and will continue his campaign at the tournament. In the Round of 16 in Doha, he will face Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics (ATP 61).
Meanwhile, at the ATP Challenger tournament in Oeiras, Portugal, Elina Avanesyan (ATP 178) was eliminated at an early stage. She lost in three sets to 18-year-old Angelina Voloshchuk (ATP 401) — 2:6, 6:4, 4:6.
