Gor Hovakimyan competed at the World Athletics Indoor Championships

Armenian athlete Gor Hovakimyan took part in the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships held in Budapest.
He finished 14th out of 17 participants with a result of 16.25 meters. Hovakimyan outperformed athletes from Zimbabwe, Greece, and France.
The winner of the tournament was Italy’s Andy Díaz Hernández with a result of 17.47 meters. The silver medal was claimed by Jordan Scott (17.33 m), while the bronze went to Algeria’s Yasser Triki (17.30 m).
Notably, Gor Hovakimyan was the only representative of Armenia at the 2026 championships.
The athlete traveled to Budapest with his father and coach Garnik Hovakimyan, as well as the President of the Armenian Athletics Federation Robert Emmiyan.
