Gymnast Artur Avetisyan wins European bronze, Vahagn Davtyan finishes seventh

On May 30, the finals of the 2025 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held in Leipzig. In the rings final, Armenia was represented by two experienced gymnasts — Artur Avetisyan and Vahagn Davtyan.
Artur Avetisyan delivered a confident performance and earned the bronze medal with a score of 14.366. His routine was not highly difficult (difficulty score: 5.4), but he executed it flawlessly: his execution score of 8.966 was the highest among all finalists. This is Artur’s first medal at European or World Championships — he had previously finished fourth three times, just missing the podium.
Vahagn Davtyan, the 2022 European silver medalist, also made it to the final after a strong qualification. In the decisive round, the 36-year-old gymnast scored 14.166 points and finished seventh.
Two gymnasts shared the gold medal — Adem Asil (Turkey) and Eleftherios Petrounias (Greece), both scoring 14.400. No silver medal was awarded in this final.

Thus, after the first day of individual finals, Armenia has three medals — gold, silver, and bronze. Earlier today, Hamlet Manukyan became the champion on pommel horse, and Mamikon Khachatryan took second place.
