Bosnian forward Nardin Mulahusejnovic, who plays for the Armenian club Noah, expressed disappointment at not being called up to the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team for the 2026 World Cup playoff matches.
“Honestly, I think I deserved to be on the list. I respect the coach’s decision, but as the top scorer of the Conference League, I feel I could have helped the team. Nevertheless, my task is to keep working, proving my value, and becoming better. When the national team call comes, I will gladly respond,” Mulahusejnovic said in an interview with Avaz..
Armenia and club achievements
This season, the 28-year-old striker has scored 9 goals for Noah, 5 of them in the Conference League, becoming the top scorer of the group stage and leading the Armenian club to the European tournament playoffs for the first time in its history.
Recently, the forward helped Noah win a trophy, scoring the decisive penalty in the Armenian Super Cup to secure the victory. “It’s a special feeling to be the person making decisions on the field. I’m glad I helped the team and brought the trophy. Moments like these stay with you for a long time and provide extra motivation,” the striker said.
Bosnia national team playoffs
Bosnia and Herzegovina will play in the 2026 World Cup playoffs: on March 26, the team faces Wales, and in the final, the winner will play against the winner of Italy vs. Northern Ireland. The forwards called up for these matches are Ermedin Demirović (Stuttgart), Haris Tabaković (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Edin Džeko (Schalke), Samed Baždar (Jagiellonia), and Jovo Lukić (Universitatea Cluj).
With three forwards from Germany already called, it was difficult to include Nardin, but given Baždar’s modest output (2 goals this season), calling Mulahusejnovic would have seemed logical.
Rest of the season
Noah remains in contention for several trophies: the team has already won the Super Cup and is preparing for the Armenian Cup quarterfinals. In the league, the gap from the leader, Ararat-Armenia, is 8 points, but with one game in hand, hopes for the championship remain.
“The main thing is to stay healthy, keep working hard, and fight for new trophies with the team. Hard work always pays off, and I will give my maximum,” Nardin emphasized.
