18-year-old Armenian gymnast Hamlet Manukyan has won the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup stage held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
As a year ago at the same competition, Manukyan claimed gold in the pommel horse event. In the final, he delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 14.800 points and confidently surpassing Kazakhstan’s Zeynolla Idrissov (14.566) and Nariman Kurbanov (14.566), as well as his compatriot Mamikon Khachatryan (14.533). Khachatryan, who had earlier won the qualification round, finished only fourth in the final.

This victory is especially significant for Manukyan, considering he missed the second and third World Cup stages in Baku and Antalya. At the first stage in Cottbus, he placed seventh, while Khachatryan took the silver medal.
Today, the Armenian team will continue competing: Artur Avetisyan and Artur Davtyan will perform in the rings final. Tomorrow, Davtyan will compete in the vault final.
