Finn Geragusian traveled with Sunderland’s first team for the FA Cup away fixture against Oxford United. The match ended in a narrow 1–0 victory for the Black Cats.
The 18-year-old striker was not included in the final matchday squad, but the very fact of traveling with the senior team marks an important step in his development. Another U21 representative, Jack Whittaker, was named in the squad but did not make an appearance.
For Geragusian , this is already valuable experience within a Premier League club’s first-team environment. The tall forward (194 cm) is gradually attracting the coaching staff’s attention thanks to his scoring record and physical attributes.
This season, the Armenia youth international has scored 9 goals for Sunderland’s U21 and U18 sides, confirming his status as one of the most promising Armenian players of his generation.
His first steps within the senior team structure indicate that his progress is not going unnoticed, and a senior debut may only be a matter of time.
